We attended and presented at the 17th International Waves Workshop

October 2023

We traveled to the University of Notre Dame to attend the 3rd International Workshop on Waves, Storm Surges, and Coastal Hazards Incorporating the 17th International Waves Workshop. It provided us with the opportunity to present our work on wave hazards and their coastal impact, and to meet with international storm surge and wave climate researchers at the meeting for the Coordinated Ocean Wave Climate Project (COWCliP) and the SurgeMIP meeting.

Mohammad successfully defended his PhD dissertation

August 2023

Mohammad Jamous defended his dissertation, which investigated hurricane-induced erosion hazards to beach-dune systems in New Jersey under a changing climate. We are grateful to Mohammad's dissertation committee: Professors Muhammad Hajj and Jon Miller from Stevens and Professor Peter Ruggiero from Oregon State University.

Congrats Dr. Mohammad Jamous!

We presented at 2022 AGU Fall meeting

December 2022

Our group members, Maria and Azad, presented our research at 2023 AGU Fall meeting in Chicago, IL.

Dr. Reza Marsooli received the Educator of the Year Award from ASCE North New Jersey

October 2022

Our lab presented at the ASBPA National Coastal Conference in Long Beach, CA

September 2022

Mohammad, Reza, and Erfan attended and presentation at the annual National Coastal Conference organized by the American Shore and Beach Preservation Association (ASBPA). Mohammad gave a talk about his research on wave erosional hazards to beaches and dunes and Erfan gave a talk on the benefits of vegetation to mitigate wave runup and overtopping. Reza presented a poster on the U.S. Community Perspectives on Coastal Flooding, which was a collaborative work with the Science and Technology Committee of the ASBPA.
